The Linda 2 occurrence is located at an elevation of approximately 40 metres on Mink Point, near the western end of Turnour Island.

Regionally, the area is underlain by Upper Jurassic to Lower Cretaceous tonalite, granitic and dioritic intrusive rocks. To the south basaltic volcanic rocks of the Upper Triassic Karmutsen Formation (Vancouver Group) are exposed.

Locally, narrow, 5-centimetre-wide, chalcopyrite±bornite–bearing quartz-sulphide stockwork veins are hosted by a quartz diorite that is exposed in a roadside quarry. Biotite, chlorite and magnetite are also reported associated with veins and hostrock.

In 2016, select samples of mineralized vein material assayed 1.38 per cent copper, 8 grams per tonne silver and 0.599 gram per tonne gold, whereas the following year, a representative sample (19570) yielded 0.876 per cent copper, 4.8 grams per tonne silver and 0.469 gram per tonne gold (Assessment Report 37192).

Work History

In 2016 and 2017, New Sunro Copper Ltd. completed minor programs of prospecting and geochemical (rock and silt) sampling on the area as the Linda 2-3 claims of the Turnour Island property.
